During the January 18th City Council work meeting, the Mayor asked Police Chief Hurst to report on how the winter parking enforcement has been going.

The parking ordinances for Santaquin restrict parking on the streets between Nov 1st and March 31st when snow is expected.

The Chief reported that in the last 45 days, the police force has:

– issued 263 warnings

– towed and impounded 9 cars

– issued 2 citations.

Santaquin has had three major snow storms in the last few weeks which is unusual. Chief Hurst reported that it was likely that they hadn’t given 263 warnings in the last three years combined due to the winter weather— also, they only tow cars if it’s really needed.
